About Acorus Fine Art
|
Sarah was given her first camera, a second hand Ilford sportsman, at the age of nine. She has progressed from this viewfinder camera through various makes of film SLRs to her current Canon digital SLR. She has always had a great interest in nature and open spaces. This lead to studies in Horticulture and Garden Design which gave her an eye for structure, colour and design within the natural world. During the time she was raising her family of three, opportunities to explore further afield were more limited so the garden became a place of inspiration for her and her camera. Family holidays however provided the opportunity to photograph the creeks and inlets of Norfolk and Poole harbour where the muddle of boats in various states of repair and the changing tides create interest and atmosphere. Her horticultural photographs cover a range of topics, from soaring trees to detailed plant portraits, frost edged leaves to dew caressed petals. Her work is printed on Hahnemühle German etching paper 310 gms using light fast pigment inks. |
